Do you know since when I start to detest my own hometown?
Since the two families of different cultures got together.
Since I saw the unfair treatments were displayed clearly within my sight.
Since we were the only young ones with no voice.
Since I realised that I was never belonged there.
Since I saw their true evil nature.
Since I saw what they did to the old folks let alone us.
Since I saw how the money for my education was used to pay for
their irresponsible actions and for their future inheritance.
Since they were only good to us when they needed help.
Since I realised that I don’t deserve any of these.
Since my heart was shattered with all the slanders they spread.
Since I have to depend fully on my scholarship to live…literally.
Since I realised that I will be left with nothing.
Yet, these hardships gave me the strength to endure.
I am glad that I am not alone.
I am glad that I am still able to keep my priorities straight.
I am glad that I have my mum, lil bro and my love to be by my side.
