Holes in the Heart

Holidays should have been the most enjoyable times of our life. However, it has already been two semester breaks that I have been challenged emotionally by death. Sure it was not human death but to me, I feel like a part of me dying instantly. It was not easy.

I realised that things happen due to my own stupid ignorance. Previously, on 27th May 2009, my favourite cat, Danny died due to hairball that stuck in his tummy. He was already a year old that time but he only stayed with us for 4 months. Before this he & his siblings were staying in my dad's place. (They were neglected by the previous owner so Dad took them with him.)Going back to the story, before Danny left, he had kidney problem & having difficulty to poo. Then, I brought him to the vet and due to lack of experience & facilities ( I went to the cheap private vet), they suggested home treatment. It was the MOST WRONG & STUPID action I have ever made. Danny grew weaker & died that very night.

As with Apple which died on 5th December, I thought she just had the typical fever as before that I noticed that she did sleep with my lil Ciko which was having fever & in recovery stage ( I treated her using aspirin & lots of water & Nutripet vitamin. So, due to the presumption, I tried to ignore the worst of what could happen & treated Apple with similar treatment I gave Ciko. After 4 days, she no longer ate or drank. I found her dead as I was going to check on the cats while waiting for my cookies to be baked. Another shock which made me emotionally broke-down the moment I called my mom.
The two incidents made me learned a big & traumatizing lesson:
Never take things easily or make your own clever action & always consult for the expert's opinion.

This is one of my furry companions which had died of a sickness
* I don't know whether it was the fever or any other virus).
Her name was Apple.

One of the playful ones,
The one that cheers the house,
Hope she will rest in peace.
The Apple of My Heart, Blessed be.

You need to be strong for them, Nui. It's true that the owner will eventually fall sick a bit, but you must know you've given them much love. And they'll be waiting you in heavens.
